Tieto's banking business in Kenya and South Sudan

The Co-operative Bank of Kenya recently completed the expansion of its operations to South Sudan, using Tieto's payment card platform - Tieto Card Suite. The Tieto solution has enabled Co-operative Bank of South Sudan to issue local debit cards as well as offer cardholders acquiring services using their own automated teller machines (ATMs). Credit card issuing and Visa processing have also been initiated.

Tieto has supported Co-operative Bank of South Sudan through its acquisition of an in-house dispute management solution and bank accounting interface, to ensure an effective and correct operation of the bank accounting system when processing payment card transaction information. And Tieto's Card Suite system has been set-up centrally in Co-operative Bank's data centre in Nairobi, Kenya, enabling a multi-currency, multi-institution and multi-country environment and ensuring high stability and excellent performance.
